Bees Noosa

Welcome to our Bees Noosa website. We are passionate about bees and what they do for us and mankind. If we didn't have bees, then we wouldn't have much food to eat. This is why we decided to share our knowledge with other bee enthusiasts (and honey lovers ) by offering down-to-earth bee courses on the Sunshine Coast. Our courses are conducted in John's backyard in Tewantin (near Noosa): The courses are intensive, hands-on, fun and have small participant numbers. There are introductory, intermediate, advanced and refresher courses. (Contact BeesNoosa@gmail.com for more information or to book).  John also sells his beautiful honey (and bees)- buy some by emailing him on BeesNoosa@gmail.com

COURSE NEWS: Next introductory course is 13 October 2024, 9am-12:30pm

Who are we?   John Writer and Kathy Lynch.

Ok...last year John took out heaps of awards, and Kathy received a few too;  so far this year (2024) Kathy has received 1st place for her wax moulds at the Royal Easter Show!!

(2023- a few prizes at the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show and the Gympie Ag. Show, AND John received 1st place for his honey in the Novice section of the  Brisbane EKKA. But best of all,  John won 3rd prize for his honey at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney).

John (knows a-lot about bees). John started beekeeping around 1998 - beekeeping is his hobby and passion, he plays with his bees in his backyard in Tewantin as well as a few other hives in the hinterland, and is a registered beekeeper with Biosecurity, Queensland and a member of Qld Beekeepers' Association.

Kathy (knows a little about bees). Kathy started learning about bees as a young child, but only took it up in 2019 when she started her first hive in the hinterland - she now has three hives, and is a registered hobbyist beekeeper with Biosecurity and is a member of the Sunshine Coast Beekeepers Group.
